Hi all, due to last minute circumstances beyond our control we no longer have access to the Park Lodge. We have thus had to change the venue for this Wednesday’s Friends of Roberts Park Meeting. We will still be meeting at 7pm, but now at Lesley Brook’s house instead since Lesley has very kindly offered to host our meeting. All welcome to attend!
Since we’d rather not post Lesley’s address publicly and openly on the big bad internet, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or send a text to 07870 490550 for full venue details if you plan to attend. Apologies for any inconvenience!
Just a quick reminder that we have one of our regular FoRP group meetings arranged for the 10th January (next Wednesday). This will begin at 7pm in the Roberts Park Lodge. For those who may not have been before, the Park Lodge is the building adjacent to the rear entrance of the park near the adventure playground. Please note this is a change from the previously advertised date! We are now meeting on the 10th not the 11th of January.
The main purpose of this meeting will be a post Christmas catchup, and to look ahead and begin the planning for this year’s World Heritage Weekend Event in April.
Hope to see you all then.
The friends of Roberts park ( FORP ) would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and hope you all have a wonderful new year in 2018. This year has been wonderful for Roberts Park with visitor numbers at an all time high, The bandstand had some great performance’s throughout the summer and the Shakespeare performance’s were a big hit as always, Good news is that they will all be back for 2018 to bring us another Shakespeare performance that the guys are working so hard doing rehearsals now so they are ready to entertain us, ( unsure exactly which play it is at this time but details will updated next year.) We will also be having our musical bandstand’s as normal and not to forget our WORLD HERITAGE DAY on the 21st April 2018 and the unveiling of the big Cannons that will become a permanent fixture once again of Roberts park after many years.
(FORP) FRIENDS OF ROBERTS PARK volenteers And members work so hard and we are always thinking of new ideas and improvements that can be made to make your visit extra special so we would welcome any input or ideas from the members of the public, We are a none profit organization and relying on donations from our Bandstands so that we can keep bringing you these wonderful performances throughout the summer.
Merry Christmas to you all ??❄????❄??
Hi everyone, just a reminder to take care when walking near the river in the recent icy conditions. These boys had a close shave!

Hi Everyone, the newly formed group Litter Free Baildon have organised a litter pick at Roberts Park this Sunday 17th December.
The group is meeting at the Half Moon Cafe at 9am, and the pick will be taking place for an hour or so after this initial meet. They’ll be at the Half Moon Cafe at 9:00 AM, the people with the high-viz vests and the litter picking sticks! People should bring their own gloves.
The group has enthusiastic volunteers, but is still quite small and is loooking for civic groups around the area to meet us and work with them if possible – please help spread the word!
