Anyone who has taken a walk locally recently will know that unfortunately the Aire riverbank is looking a bit shabby at the moment. This is because during the Boxing Day floods rubbish of all kinds was left behind when the floodwater receded.
However the good news is that an intrepid group of local volunteers led by Mat Holloway will be performing a cleanup up of the Aire riverbank on Sundays for the foreseeable future!
The Aire Debris Removal Initiative’s Facebook group can be found here, and has details of planned future cleanup events. You can also subscribe to the group’s email list via the following address firstname.lastname@example.org. Posters provided by the group also provide further information about the cleanup events, and contain further information: River Aire Poster V2
