Restorative Justice in Roberts Park

Seasons Greetings Everyone!

Regular readers may be aware that earlier this year the shelters in Roberts Park were vandalised. An attempt was made to set the benches in the park North Shelter alight and this caused significant damage as shown below. The wide extent of the damage meant that this ultimately cost £400 to rectify.

I am very happy to say that thanks to the efforts of our local constabularly the individuals involved have been identified and prosecuted.

Today those individuals involved completed the first part of their sentence of unpaid work – litter picking within the park. Myself, Lesley and David were on-hand to supervise and witness this first hand as representatives from the Friends of Roberts Park.

So justice has come full-circle and a wrong has been righted. This seems very appropriate at Christmas.

Merry Christmas Everyone!
